LEADERSHIP & MINISTRY TEAM

There is one Body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.

Let us help you find your place in that Body, take on your gift,
and live wholly and solely for Him!

What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be the Word of God, trustworthy and true.
 ( 2 Timothy 3:16)

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died for me and you. (Matthew 3:17, Psalm 2:7)

We believe that faith is believing God will do what He says He will do if we do what He asks us to. (John 20:31, Romans 10:17, Hebrews 11:6)

– We Believe that the Bible is the only book that is the inspired Word of God, unchangeable and infallible. Galatians 1:9, 2 Tim 3:16-17

– We believe that there is one God describable by three distinct personas: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. 2 Cor 13:14, Romans 9:5, Mark 12:29

– We believe that Jesus Christ was sent to earth born of the virgin Mary (Matt 1:18-25) as the physical manifestation of the invisible God (Col 1:15) to pay for the wages of sin, that we might have the free gift of life. (Rom 6:23)

– We believe that each person is accountable for sin based on our choices (James 1:14) and that everyone of sound mind has sinned (Romans 3:23) and stands condemned apart from the blood of Christ. (John 3:16-18)

– We believe that the whole Bible is true and therefore, God in His great love for us, has provided forgiveness of sins for all who follow His whole plan of salvation as found in scripture:

   ~ Hear – Romans 10:17

   ~ Believe – John 3:18, Heb 11:6

   ~ Repent – Acts 3:19, Romans 6:1-7

   ~ Confess – Romans 10:9-10

~ Call on the name of the Lord through baptism for the forgiveness of sins to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:21, Acts 22:16, 1 Peter 3:21, Acts 2:38-41, Romans 8:9

~ Be faithful for the rest of your life – Rev 2:10, Heb 10:23-36

   ~ Love Christ – Matt 22:36-40, 1 Cor 16:22, John 14:15, 1 Cor 13:13

~ Love the Church which is the Body of Christ – John 13:34-35

   ~ Love the truth – 1 Thess 2:10-11

– We believe that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us and will return to judge all mankind, taking His people to an everlasting heavenly home, but sending all others to everlasting punishment in hell. Matt 25:31-46, John 14:3

– We believe that because of the severity of the nature of salvation vs. condemnation it is the duty of the Church to continually be about evangelism, pleading with people to leave a life of sin and to come take the free gift of the water of life. Rev 22:17, Matt 28:16-20

We are a body of believers meeting in Sierra Vista, Arizona, adjacent to the US Army base Fort Huachuca (Wah-chew-kah). If you will be visiting southeast Arizona, we invite you to spend some time with us. If you are new to the area, come by and get to know us!

The Sierra Vista Church of Christ is a non-denominational family of Christians worshiping and serving our Lord Jesus Christ. We view the name “Church of Christ” as more of a descriptive term than a denominational title or affiliation. Thus, our name “Church of Christ” simply means that we are a church that belongs to Christ. We are committed to being a Bible-based and Christ-centered fellowship that lives for the glory of God, the spiritual growth of people, and ministry to our community and the world.

We are a local, independent congregation of God’s people, i.e., believers who have been baptized into Christ for the remission of sins, and who are committed to living by faith in Christ. We seek no affiliation with any organization larger than, smaller than, or other than, this local congregation. When we have opportunity to cooperate with other faithful congregations of God’s people, these efforts are always done to protect the autonomy and independence of all of the local congregations involved.

It is our sincere desire to come to a full understanding of the teaching of Christ. While we work together toward this goal, we agree to be tolerant of one another in matters of opinion and to not be contentious about matters we differ on. Our joint action is based upon those things we all agree the Bible teaches that the local church is authorized to do.

Our attendance is just under 120, and our members are a cross-section of the population,  including “senior saints”  and families with children ranging in age from toddlers to teens. We welcome folks who are associated with the military; whether you’re here because of PCS, TDY, or AIT , please join us!
